I could see this as either a sipping or a chugging beverage (since I’ve literally done both this morning with equal ease). A good way to get me some caffeine this morning. ![]() I mean, it’s plenty sweet, but when I think about some other fruit punch sodas out there, it’s a kick in the tongue of sugar with some other flavors thrown in as an afterthought. It’s a good Fruit Punch soda that’s thankfully too sweet. Now, I will say that there’s nothing that absolutely blows me away with this one. It contains 0% juice, but it’s almost like off the berry-based Dews in terms of that. It’s not very strong with an acidic punch at the start, but a much smoother sort of flavor. And my first sip was more like a first gulp because I’m apparently thirsty and this tastes really good. Mixes of different berry and citrus flavors with a very distinct pineapple finish for me. That is a delightfully refreshing tropical punch. Hard to pick out individual notes, but I think I sense some pineapple in there. The side of the can call it a tropical punch flavor and that’s definitely what I’m getting in terms of scent. Like the blush spots on a peach that’s grown in the sun. So, obviously, before I can try it, I need to get it out of that snazzy can. But it’s alright, because it’s back and I managed to snack myself a 6-pack (probably the only way I’ll ever have a 6-pack) online (the only way to get it). I have to admit, though I was a Dew fan, I don’t remember this being a thing at all. Apparently, Typhoon was a limited edition release a decade ago and people went wild over it. PepsiCo has made a whole ton of Dew flavors over the decades, many of which I’ve tried, but an even greater portion (possibly) that I haven’t, and some I’ve not even known about. There was no doubt scalpers were going to try and snatch all of the inventory, so we ensured that only people with accounts on Dew Nation HQ, Dew’s Loyalty Rewards Program, could purchase the coveted beverage. So when EI had the opportunity to relaunch the fan favorite as a limited-time DTC exclusive, we knew the strategy had to be robust. Every Instagram and Reddit comment thread was flooded with Dew Nation begging for Typhoon’s awaited return.
